Boyertown has been selected to host the Pennsylvania Junior Legion Prep State Tournament in 2023 and 2024! By hosting, their 13- and 14-year-old team, the Bear Paws, is guaranteed a berth in the tournament. This year, games will be played at Bear Stadium. In 2024, games will be played at the newly-renovated Mackey Field in Boyertown Community Park.

The Bear Paws qualified for the state tournament in 2022, making it all the way to the final four before being eliminated by eventual champion Greater Pittston. The Paws have enjoyed quite a bit of success in recent years, qualifying for the state tournament in 4 of the last 6 years and finishing as state runners-up in 2018. They last hosted the state tournament in 2019.
