Welcome to the Mackey Project Progress and Plans page! This page contains photos of the field before work began, photos of project progress so far, and a list of upcoming planned work. We will post regular updates to this page so check back often to see how things are coming along!

2021 Field Prep

Work on the field began by removing the backstop and sideline fencing, the shed behind home plate, and the large tree next to the road. The benches and the pipe railing next to the walking trail were also removed

Before the Project Started

circa 2020 Mackey field

It's good to start any project by documenting how things were before work began, so the improvements in the end product can be fully appreciated. Before the project, Mackey field was a 60-90 field with a dirt infield and a shallow backstop. The benches were uncovered, wooden benches. Wooden bleachers were provided for fans, adjacent to each bench. An open shed was positioned behind the home plate backstop. The Boyertown Park walking path navigated past the field along the third base side, separated from the third base bench by a simple black pipe railing. A large tree was between the walkway and the road. The above photo shows a view of home plate and the backstop from behind the pitcher's mound, taken in 2020.
