The BMBL 11U Advanced Play team won the 27th Annual Forks Baseball Tournament, beating Easton 14-8 in the championship game. The Bears put up a 4-0 record in the tournament, surrendering only 11 total runs while scoring 35.
In pool play, Boyertown shut out both opponents. First, they faced Baseball U of PA, whom they beat convincingly 10-0. Kaden G tossed a CG 1-hitter with 4 strikeouts over four innings. At the plate, Bobby Y was 2-2 with 2 RBI. Pool play game 2 was against Plumstead and turned out to be the tightest contest of the tournament for Boyertown. This time, three Boyertown pitchers collaborated to toss a 6-inning no-hitter, which Boyertown won 1-0. The three pitchers, Roman K, Bobby Y, and Luke M, struck out 11 total Plumstead batters. The game was tied 0-0 going into the bottom of the sixth when JD H reached on a hit-by-pitch, stole second and eventually third, and then scored on a Mason M walk-off ground ball single back up the middle.
Boyertown faced Rockaway Cadets in the playoff semifinals and walked away with a convincing 10-3 victory. The Cadets struck first, grabbing a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Boyertown answered by hanging a crooked number in the bottom of the second, plating five. They brought ten batters to the plate in the frame. The Bears would add two runs in the bottom of the third and another three runs in the bottom of the fourth to seal the deal. Mason M led Boyertown hitters, going 2-3 with an RBI. Bobby Y, Carter R, and JD H each had 2 RBI for the Bears.
In the championship game, Boyertown exploded out of the gate, scoring a whopping 11 runs in the bottom of the first. They batted around in the inning, bringing 15 batters to the plate. The impressive thing about the offensive outburst was that they did it with singles - seven Boyertown batters hit a single in the bottom of the first. Easton would chip away at this considerable lead but was never able to get closer than 12-8. Boyertown batters Mason M and Shaun C each had 2 hits and Roman K had 3 RBI. Three Boyertown pitchers, Kaden G, Bobby Y and Roman K, shared the mound duties for Boyertown in the championship game victory.
