Red Sox Majors Runner-up

The Majors Red Sox came up just short of winning the 2020 Summer Majors Championship, falling to the White Sox 7-6 in the championship game.

The team completed a week-long playoff run that saw them play 29 innings in only 4 days. They beat the Angels in their first round playoff game in dramatic fashion with an extra innings walk-off hit by Nicholas P in the bottom of the eighth. The Red Sox then faced the White Sox in the winner's bracket final of the four-team double-elimination playoff, again going into extra innings but this time falling in defeat in the bottom of the ninth. The loss put them in the loser's bracket, where they handled the A's 6-1 in their first regulation-length game of the playoffs. The win over the A's set up a rematch with the White Sox, who the Red Sox would have to defeat twice in order to win the double-elimination championship.

The Red Sox jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first in the championship game, thanks to RBI singles by Connor H and Jaxon K. The White Sox narrowed the lead to 2-1 in the bottom of the second, but the Red Sox regained a 2-run advantage in the top of the third. The White Sox pulled away for good in the bottom of the third, plating 5 runs. The Red Sox rallied back, adding 2 runs in the top of the fourth and a run in the top of the sixth, but fell one run short of completing the comeback.
