The Boyertown 9U Advanced Play Team won the District 6 championship and has qualified for the State Tournament, which they will be hosting in Boyertown Fri 6/30-Tue 7/4! Here is a write-up about the win from coach Chris Petro.

The Boyertown Bears 9U squad simply would not be denied. Tuesday's Championship Game was their third straight elimination game win! The Bears exploded for 9 runs in the top of the first inning. They sent 13 players to the plate, 10 of which reached base safely! The offensive onslaught was highlighted by Owen H's RBI double! Camden S, Colin H, and Lucas H all had RBI singles. Ty G and Mason P also drove in runs to add to the early lead. After that, the pitching by Lucas H and the tremendous defense behind him shut down any hopes of a comeback by Hatfield-Towamencin. Their district championship hopes were smothered by the Bears, who beat them on back-to-back days to seal the deal. Lucas went all 5 innings for the win! He only allowed 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 1. He, just like the rest of the pitching staff throughout the tournament, pitched to contact and prevented the big inning by trusting his defense. That defense was lead by outstanding plays from Camden S at shortstop, Owen H at third base, Mason N behind the plate, and Ty G at first base.

The tournament victory was Boyertown's 2nd of the year in as many opportunities. They improved their record to 13-2 on the year (33-4 over the last 2 years).

We could not be more proud of each and every one of those 12 boys! Their effort and how coachable they are is second to none. They continue to learn how to compete at a high level and battle through adversity!
