The Boyertown 10U team was part of a 3-team Boyertown sweep at Cal Ripken Districts, beating Lehigh Valley 6-4 to earn the 2021 10U PA Cal Ripken League District 6 title.
Boyertown started the tournament with a 9-6 come-from-behind victory over Upper Perk. Boyertown swung hot bats, earning 13 knocks for the game. Four Boyertown batters had 2-hits for the game: Alexander F (3 RBI), Austin B (2 RBI), Sam S (1 RBI), and Ryan W. Boyertown faced Lehigh Valley in the winner's bracket final and came out on top of a back-and-forth contest 8-5. The team again sprayed the ball around the diamond, notching 11 hits. Jacen F and Will F led the way, each going 3-3 for the game. Alexander F and Connor W were masterful on the mound, holding Lehigh Valley hitters to 5 hits and 2 walks.
The championship game was a rematch against loser's bracket winner Lehigh Valley, with the same outcome as the first contest. The difference in this game was a six-run third inning for Boyertown, enough runs to hold off a late-game Lehigh Valley rally. Owen B got the rally started with a walk, followed by back-to-back singles by Jacen F and Connor W to load the bases. Ryan W stroked the first pitch of his at-bat to center for a 2-RBI double. After an RBI ground out by Austin B and a walk by Sam S, Will S drove in 2 more Boyertown runs with a triple to right. Will S scored on a passed ball during Liam H's at bat to complete the big inning for Boyertown. In the end, nine Boyertown batters would come to the plate in the decisive third. On the mound, Boyertown pitchers Danny H and Ryan W delivered another strong performance for Boyertown, scattering 9 Lehigh Valley hits and only 1 free pass over six innings.
