On April 26, 2019, Comcast held a Comcast Cares Day at Boyertown Community Park. Comcast Cares Day is a program where Comcast employees can identify projects at non-profit organizations where Comcast and its employees can give back to their communities. Joe Casey, who works for Comcast, and his family were the main drivers of the April event with BMBL.
The April project included painting and cleaning. The team painted the areas throughout the park, including the snack stand, sheds, benches, and dugouts. The project also included cleaning out all of the sheds and picking up leaves. The day concluded with Joe and his crew making some awesome food on the grill. BMBL would like to thank Joe Casey and family, Comcast, and all the volunteers that came out that day to clean up the park.
As a result of participation in this Comcast Cares event, BMBL was eligible to apply for a grant from Comcast. The grants were recently announced, and BMBL has been awarded $2,300. BMBL will be using this money to make more improvements to the park for next year.
