The Bear Paws won the MBC Junior Legion Prep title, beating Spring City 4-3 in the championship game.
The Paws entered the MBC League playoffs as the top seed and never faltered in their quest for the title, beating Perk Valley, Norchester, and Spring City in their playoff run. Ty Shoultes got the start and win for the Paws on the hill, scattering two hits and one run over four innings of work, while walking three and striking out three. Chad Hillega and Connor Moyer came into the game in relief, with Moyer earning the 5-out save. At the plate, Moyer and Luke DiBricida each had two hits to lead the Paws. Gavin Slaughter set the tone early when he hit a 2-out double to left to drive in the first two runs for the Bear Paws.
The Bear Paws will be hosting and playing in the Junior Legion Prep state tournament starting July 27 at Bear Stadium.
