Hello BMBL family,
We hope that everyone is doing well during this time.
The Coronavirus pandemic has obviously had wide-ranging impacts on different organizations. Each organization is handling this in different ways. On Thursday, April 9th, the Governor announced the cancellation of school for the remainder of the academic school year. The "Stay at Home" order is still in effect. With this being said, the BMBL boards, Junior and Senior, have been meeting frequently to talk about the 2020 season.
We have been listening to the Department of Health, following State guidelines and communicating with other organizations so as to help us make good informed decisions.
In our meetings, we have been going over our goals for 2020:
- Keeping everyone safe. This is our number 1 goal.
- Depending on when the "Stay at Home" order is lifted by the STATE, we have various action plans on what our season will look like. We have various scenarios in which BMBL can have a season.
- Teams – the one part of BMBL that separates us from many leagues is our family. We have over 500 players registered for the 2020 season. The number of teams we have per division has grown over the last couple of years and schedules are not a problem for us.
- We ARE READY. We have been meeting nonstop and working very hard to have a season. Every organization has to follow the State mandates, when those mandates change BMBL is ready.
BMBL will keep coming up with different action plans as we get more information, but we are very committed to having a 2020 season. BMBL has many alternate plans, different avenues that we can take that other organizations may not have. BMBL, again, is committed to having a season.
